Get Started on the Government’s Home Care Packages Program

If you are contemplating taking advantage of the government’s Home Care Package program for your parents, family members, or even your neighbour… take my advice: ACT NOW!

Once you have applied, the wait time can be anywhere from 6 to 18 months.

Get onto the My Aged Care website and start the process. It is easier than you think.

Here are my Tips:

1. Discuss it beforehand – see my blog post on how to have these conversations
2. Find their Medicare card
3. Answer the questions from the perspective of a ‘pretty bad day’  (i.e. don’t answer as if everything is tickety-boo.
   Think back to a day when it was hard to get everything done, and start from there.)
